Acro
Ages 4—17
As the world of dance evolves, we see a trend to include acrodance in dance education. Acrodance samples from the classical world of ballet, jazz, contemporary, and lyrical, while also incorporating acrobatics.
The focus is to increase strength, balance and flexibility for the dancer, as well as to develop a repertoire of acrobatics that can be added to other genres. Examples of tricks that dancers may learn are cartwheels, handstands, round offs, and more!
This focus on athleticism, and unique choreography style, are what make acrodance stand apart from other traditional dance styles. If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing Cirque du Soleil, you’ve seen some of the world’s best acrodancers.
Level placements are determined by the instructor.
